Update your Email
by Colin Matheson - Tuesday, 31 August 2010, 01:50 PM

It is important that your MySchool account has a correct email. It helps teachers and classmates send you information.
  1. Login

  2. Click on your name to view your profile
  3. Click the "Edit Profile" tab
  4. Make sure that the email listed is a real email that you check occasionally
  5. Enter a real email in the field (you can edit description and profile picture as well)
  6. Scroll down and hit submit

Changing the number of emails MySchool sends you -When you post to a forum you are subscribed to it and receive emails from that forum. This can be good to keep up with online discussions, but it can overwhelm your inbox if you are in an active class. Some forums you are always subscribed to (News Forum)

  1. Login

  2. Click on your name to view your profile
  3. Click the "Edit Profile" tab
  4. Click on the "Show Advanced" button (if it says "Hide Advanced" don't click it)
    • Email digest type - Switch to complete "daily email with full posts" to get a single email a day of all the forums you are subscribed to, keep it on "No Digest" to receive an email for each post

    • Forum auto-subscribe - when you post to a forum you can always choose to subscribe or not. Auto-subscribe means that the default is to receive emails.

    • Forum tracking – Turn to “Yes” to see which forums have unread posts from the main screen

If you ever want to edit your subscriptions (subscribe/unsubscribe) you can post to a forum and select a new option in the field at the bottom. Or you can visit the link in the side block labeled Activities and click on Forums. There you will see a list of all the forums in a class and you can choose to subscribe or unsubscribe from there.

Pakistani Flood Victims
by Colin Matheson - Thursday, 19 August 2010, 06:52 AM

floodPeople aren't donating a lot of money to the victims of the Pakistani floods even though the disaster has left millions of people without food or safe water. If you are looking for ways to help you can text the word “SWAT” to the number, 50555, and reply “yes” when asked to confirm, in order to make a $10 donation to help the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (ask your parents first of course). Your family can also donate to OxFam or to the International Red Cross/Crescent.
