1) JERRY'S MOTIVATION

Why exactly is it so important to Jerry that he swim through the tunnel—so important that he is willing to risk his life in order to do it? Is it for one reason or multiple reasons? Is his motivation clear and simple or ambiguous and complicated

2) A DYNAMIC CHARACTER

A dynamic character is a character who changes in the course of the story. (In contrast, the opposite is a static character, one who does not change.) What makes Jerry a dynamic character who changes in the course of the story?  Identify at least two ways in which Jerry changes by the story’s end.

3) WAS IT WORTH IT?
